Last lock out now this lock out you would swear the only bar in downtown St.Paul is the Eagle Street Grill, does Chris Coleman own a piece of this place, why aren't the other bars and grills whining, I feel for the arena workers(ushers,Wait staff, and bartenders) they don't have have a choice of opening the doors of the X.

trade51 -- did you put more than a few seconds of thought on your comment? the story is about a resturaunt that is across the street from the X. I would wager that Reid's and McGoverns to name a few are hurting too because of the lockout ...think before you post next time -- these are people that are trying to make a living and the greed of the owners and players are going to KILL the NHL.

I fell for the workers both a the arena and the restaurant but to tie the lockout to the overall economy is ludicrious. This establishment is a niche business tied to a niche industry (entertainment). Now if the lockout was tied to the tax rate on small businesses that would be a different story.

The owners of this business have been very public about their antipathy towards government. They routinely attack any sort of government regulation. They are the genius' that claimed their servers earned $100,000 while they supported Tom Emmer's campaign for governor. And yet, they survive primarily on business that comes from a government built facility and they believe that "The highest levels of government should get involved because they're impacting the national economy." I feel badly for the workers there, but perhaps the owners should change the name of their restaurant to the Hypocrite Cafe.

Might be time to drop being corporate sponsors and season-ticket holders. Fool me once shame on you, but three times....There are only 40 wild home dates per year what do you do the other 325? You need to institute a new business plan. Everyone whats to be an order taker but to have a successful business you have to work and that means getting out from behind the bar.

Fightin' Bob.... Very well said!! You beat me to it as I was going to post almost exactly what you said. These two are the only ones I see on TV and in the paper almost weekly whining about the lockout. Yes, Reid's, McGovern's, Wild Tymes, and all the other businesses in close proximity to the X are hurting, and I'm sure they are all doing what they gotta do to make it through. Apparently, these guys think publicly whining about it is their best way to make it through. Oh, and maybe they should have considered things like this as they kept expanding to a 6000 square foot bar.

I went to the Eagle Street two days in a row when Springsteen was in town. Maybe you should try to get some of those servers back for special events. We waited so long to get a server that we left the second day without getting anything.
