Down 7-6 late, letting the Jets score was the smart play. Jets score, kick PAT, lead 14-6. The faster you let them score, the more time you have left to try to score TD and tie game with 2-pt conversion. Maybe Dockett wasn't smart enough to see the big picture, but Greene (of the Jets) was and downed it to run out the clock rather than scoring TD. It's not "quitting" to let them score, it's your best chance to win.
