Despite a mild fall in Minnesota, soon the ice should be thick enough up north for another bustling winter fishing season.

the lake is getting fished out with less fish than ever but still better than most MN lakes.

Forget the walleyes, the real winter fun on Lake of the Woods is lake trout fishing. A 10, 15 or 20-pound lake trout will make you quickly forget about catching 2-pound walleyes. Go up to Sioux Narrows and experience some of the bet lake trout fishing around.
