Rich! You to be kidding me! Ponder will never be a NFL quarterback period!

If a guy doesn't have the inate feel for what to do with his feet, and after being coached at what to do and not to do for this long(and I assume he's been told) what have you? It's like a guy who bowls with the wrong foot forward...it's hard to be good.Yeah there are phenoms in sports who have had quirky styles and body mechanics but Ponder isn't one who will be good at doing it.And I can't believe the Vikings staff are content to throw this season away as just an evaluator because that's what they're doing by stubbornly leaving Ponder in,having Harvin out and their insistence with not getting a legit receiver to replace him. It's like the fans are not even a consideration and the fans are they're bread and butter. That is so frustrating and it's like they don't even care that it's making fans want to pull they're collective hair out.

Gannon may have a point that the Vikings do not have the talent to help Ponder, but my issue is he constantly makes the same mistakes over and over again...Coaching???? Ponder just not being good enough???? I don't know.

Wow, really surprised that Gannon dissed the Vikings like that. Mike Lynn was maybe Gannon's biggest fan and one of few in football who believed he could play quarterback. If the Vikings gave up on him, they were in a large group that included New England, Washington and Kansas City.

Sid time for you to retire. You are stuck on a broken record. You look around the league and see all these young QB's tearing up the league and you say it is okay for the Vikings to wait years for Ponder to develop and we fall further and further behind and never going to catch up with the rest of the league using Ponder. Face it Sid, he does not have it.

fred1954- I do believe Christian Ponder is already an nfl quarterback. I mean unless I missed something?

Does anybody else but me notice that the only former NFL guys in support of Ponder are also short, weak armed QBs? Tarkenton and now Gannon. Sounds like a complex to me.

How many QB's come into the NFL and are stars right away, yes there are some, however, let the Vikings build an o-line and let Ponder learn. I am not stating he will be a star, however you cannot keep drafting QB's year after year, why not give him a chance with a real o-line. Rebuilding year after year at QB is nothing better than what the Twins are doing, and we can all see where that is taking them, and that is with a new ball park.

Sid, no offense, but who cares what Rich Gannon thinks about Ponder. What else is he supposed to say? Enough, please, with the Ponder excuses; he produces or he's done, and soon, hopefully.

I noticed Rich Gannon said he may be able to be "servicable" but not a star. After two years you should know if he is that great. Give Mauer one more year of losing 90 games and Joe will waive that no trade clause and head to New York or Boston...and the Twins get three good pitching prospects out of it.
