LENIII trying to keep his interview options open with his standard non-answers. His response to Why Andy is still the pitching coach is a classic example....a good pitching coach LENIII would have done better then what Andy did with what he had. Over all these years, what exactly has Andy done to solidify himself as a good pitching coach?

"Over all these years, what exactly has Andy done to solidify himself as a good pitching coach?"...He has convinced his pitchers, his fellow coaches and those many others who have actually WITNESSED HIM WORKING!!...Maybe not those who pass judgement from their easy chairs or their bar stolls, from which they onl see the games.

Since CF is now a circus for the Twins, how about the Twins bring Carlos Gomez back? Don't know how much in love the Brewers are with him, as he has up and down years. He'd likely fill CF okay while the Twins wait for Buxton. Otherwise, it's going to be a long tryout camp in Center for the Twins for a few seasons.

"Since CF is now a circus for the Twins, how about the Twins bring Carlos Gomez back?"..Good suggestion...It's not a circus without a real clown.

Good one, Sane. Kidding aside, though, Gomez actually had a decent season for the Brewers last year. His OBP (.305) was awful as usual, but he managed 19 HR and played his usual solid CF defense, which added up to a 3.5 WAR campaign. Given the insane prices that center fielders are garnering this offseason, I highly doubt that the Twins would be wise to trade for Gomez even if they were interested in his services (and they're almost certainly not).

how can the Twins actually say they are trying to win in 2013, no way.

Can anybody name the names in CF for the Twins before Puckett showed up in 1984? I think they ran about a half-dozen guys out there in that '81-83 time frame. I think it's going to be the same thing now that Span and Revere are gone. The Twins will grasp at straws and maybe the guy who pans out isn't even in the group of names mentioned right now. The Twins are hoping for some good luck. Not a great plan, but it's the best they have going right now.

Why are players too expensive when we have 30M to spend to get to 100M? Also, a larger payroll does not guarantee success but it sure increases your chances of having a competitive team.

looks like the twins and len3 are both going to put out the same effort as last year.
