Is there some magical money tree this 60 billion is coming from i dont know about?
Yes, agony. I think it's coming from the profits from Fisker and Solyndra, or it might be the tax money GM paid back.
It should come from the oil company subsidies. That is the most worthless expenditure I can think of.
blatherskite wants the money to come from the "oil company subsidies"... well, that would take about 20 years to recoup it and would only result in everybody paying higher prices for gasoline. Some people just have no business sense do they..
Is that hyper inflation I see on the horizon? Looks like a catagory 10 that even the anointed one can't run from.
Raise your hand if you live in an overcrowded city at or below sea level?? Raise your hand if you plan to rebuild in the exact same location??
I guess what I am trying to figure out is a whole bunch of folks are having meetings there screaming about how FEMA has been doing nothing and that there has been nothing but screw ups and yet there has been NOTHING on NATIONAL TV and there has benn NOTHING in the DAILY PAPERS about it. I wonder if this had been President Bush of the national media would be so silent about this. I mean a month after Sandy, people are still complaining they aren't getting enough help from FEMA and President Obama is getting off with NO BLAME. WOW there is NO MEDIA BIAS at all is there.
Obama borrowed $5 trillion in his first 3 years and 9 months in office. Fiscal Year 2013 was to be the FIRST year of his presidency with an estimated budget deficit under $1 trillion (FY2013 deficit was originally forecast to be $901 billion). Obama already requested $200 BILLION in wasteful "stimulus" as part of his "fiscal cliff" negotiations. And now $60 billion for this, billions for that... This will be the FIFTH year of trillion dollar deficits. Watch and see.
I am trying to figure out when it became the responsibility of Govt to pay for people to fix their homes. That is what insurance is for. if you didn't bother to have insurance, why should the taxpayer pay for it???
avejoecon, Its now the Governments job to do everything for you from cradle to grave. That 90 billion we spent on green projects that went nowhere would have been nice for Sandy cleanup.
