I like MASTROIANNI he is pretty good.I dont know if he could do it the whole year, but he could steal 40 bases and hit 5-10 home runs a year.TWINS still might have to go out and get somebody for CF but they will have a better arm than REVERE.

It's almost as if Terry Ryan is trying to make this team as weak offensively as possible. This, really, was a mindless trade. I mean, Revere is YOUNGER than both Mastrioni and Benson, and he's only six months older than Hicks. And he's traded for a guy that had one good year and then took a nosedive??? Stupid trade, and time will show it as such.

Mastroiani is a step up over Span and Revere. He will do fine!

The good news is that Michael Bourne is still out there. Upgrade from Denard or Ben. The bad news is that his idiot agent thinks that Bourne is "a franchise player."

I'm sure Mastroianni can play CF...but who's going to hit leadoff? Hicks probably is the answer, but I question whether he can make the jump from AA ball to the big show. Outside of first base, I'm not too excited about our projected infield. Perhaps this is where Ryan could find us a suitable leadoff man. At least until Hicks is ready.

middle defense and the top of the order have just become big ??? in my opinion now. So they got 1 pitcher for next year by trading their best CFers and top of the order guys??? and Two possible pitchers for the future???? Interesting, better have some plan for the middle defense or the starting rotation whoever that is will be frustrated by botched routine plays. And Ryan says he's not rebuilding. Lol

Re: callmestupid, 3:21 AM: Very seldom will a GM say publicly that he's rebuilding. It hurts the team's bargaining power if another team wants to deal for an established player. That said, Ryan knows it's very unlikely the Twins will be a post-season caliber team in 2013 and therefore trying to trade to win now would be bad strategy. It takes a lot of time for baseball players to develop into major leaguers. 2015 is a reasonable target for being competitive.
