Most notable about Jim's imaginary list: Latin players, something this franchise has eschewed since the start of the millennium.

These sorts of lineup projections never pan out.

This stuff about Ryan being one of the best GMs in baseball is hilarious. What have they done while he was GM? One playoff series win, exactly one. Not having the stones to make a bold move to get the Twins over the hump, that would be another. Leaving Smith with the job of cleaning up his mess with Santana another great move. And who has he ever signed to big money after the player became elite? If Meyer does become an ace does anyone truly think Ryan will sign him to big money when he's proven time and time again that he wont spend big money on pitching? He'll trade him away for the future and tell the fanbase to be patient yet again.

If this line up does pan out Mauer will make more than the rest of the team....combined!

This may be a fictitious lineup, but one thing I can guarantee all of you negative people is that they will not loose any more games without Span and Revere then they will with them. This team needs pitching!!! Ryan did what he had to do and that is build this farm system back up. At least we have something to look forward to.

Overall both trades look good right now. There is some risk for the Twins in center field for 2013, but the probability is pretty good that one or more of the new kids on the block will at least match the performance of Span/Revere. If Diamond, Gibson and Worley pitch near their potential the Twins should be better than last year. If Ryan can find a couple more starters, the Twins may surprise us all.

The Twins lost in essence 100 games with these players.....at that point everyone is expendable, you have nothing to lose & all to gain.

Terry's version of money ball is a bad copy. Billy Beane played the game and was one of the players....Terry didn't. And Oakland KNOWS HOW TO develop young arms, the Twins don't. Want a list? McCarthy, Harden, Hudson, Zito, etc and the list goes on. Here's Billy's formula...get on base and score...take pitches and make the opposing pitcher throw lots of pitches early. And don't be so enamored and homerun numbers or others stats...look at obp and walks. And above all play sound defense.

Hmmm. The taxpayers didn't give you a new stadium so you can turn around and save money by not willing to spend money on good players. Terry Ryan's strategy might have worked before and it might work again but baseball fans don't really hope their team go for division titles. We want world series titles. Going to the playoffs only to be humiliated nationally doesn't cut it. I know the owners love it because it sells tickets but once again, we didn't give you a stadium and then you turn around and put a poor product on the field.
