Roll their eyes all they want. That's what the owners are giving them and the market's been set. So it's up to the Twins to meet it. Sorry that's how the game is played. Watching Money Ball and Billy Beane went in there and "demanded" to get more money. Doubt Terry Ryan would ever do that. Didn't Beane come up in the Twins organization?

Beane was a Met, first, of course. Watching a movie doesn't mean it happened in real life.

All good points, Blairg Unfortunately, there's a guy on every other bar stool who thinks that it all begins with, "Heck, I'd play for a million." No one has the heart to tell them they're on that barstool for a reason, and no one would pay to watch them lob a ball halfway across the infield.

Didn't we go throug hthis with Valencia last year? Wanting to bring someone in to compete at 3B that is? There is a reason Hannahan wasn't tendered a contract. He's not that good at the plate and that is all the Twins need right now

What Hannahan DOES do well is play very solid defense at 3rd base, and can also be moved around to 2nd if need be. Good range, very good glove and a strong arm. Plus he has the ability to drive the ball if need be. Give him a chance. We won't need to pay him much and he's a good guy in the clubhouse. Nothing to lose.

If I remember moneyball correctly Beane went in and demanded more money... and didn't get it but did quite well dumpster diving. Hanrahan seems like a poor mans Nick Punto.

Not sure about Hanahann...probably would be a steady player, thats about it....Not alot of power or a high average, and half way decent fielder......typical Twins choice.....

I wouldn't mind more competition at shortstop and 2nd base. Florimon and Escobar makes me less comfortable than Carroll and Casilla. Really hoping Rosario makes some big strides.

Hannahan is a good fielding 3b. The problem is if he's playing you have a light hitting 3b and light hitting ss and light hitting 2b man then throw butera in behind the plate and your got almost 4 guaranteed outs in your lineup. You need production out of 3b hannahan doesn't offer it
