Congrats to him. A great accomplishment! However, I'm confused how he can start the season at the Sony Open on the PGA Tour when the article states that Q school qualifiers "will have to go the route of the Web.com Tour".

Nice story Patrick! You should write more golf related stories! As to larbo 1: Qualifying for the PGA Tour starts NEXT YEAR via the Web.com Tour. Much like baseball has minor leagues.

Nice story Patrick, good luck to the kid. I'm sure his dad was there as well.

Donald Constable has qualified to join the PGA Tour by his going through Q-School. 2012 is the last year of existence of Q-School. Starting in 2013, golfers who wish to make it to the PGA Tour must first compete in the Web.com Tour. The top ranked golfers from the Web.com Tour will then be considered for admittance to the PGA Tour. The rough outline for attaining a PGA Tour card after this 2012 season is this: "After the FedExCup regular season ends in August 2013, the tour will take the top 75 players from the Nationwide Tour (now Web.com Tour) money list, along with the players who finished No. 126 through 200 on the PGA Tour money list, and have them play three tournaments. The top 50 will receive PGA Tour cards for the following season." (From the PGA website.) As tough as it was getting a PGA Tour card by going through Q-School, this may well be even tougher.
