They say admitting the problem is the first step: Heaven help me, I miss the campaign!

Seriously?? No one misses the constant flow of lies from PACs and candidates alike. Frankly, life is a lot more civil now that the election is past.

You know what? I think Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann are going to be big players in the 2016 presidential election! I do believe that one of them could very well be one of the candidates and run against Hillary! And both Sarah and Michelle will beat that clinton woman!

This is really pathetic. As if campaigns matter issues don't.

"You know what? I think Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann are going to be big players in the 2016 presidential election!" stunning comment. they may be back but only to serve as finishing touches to a very sad era in the Grand Old Party. i look forward however to the GOP returning to a useful and sensible opposing force in American politics....circa 2025.

Palin and Bachmann did more to permanently damage what was left of the Republican brand than any two Republicans in the whole field. They've made a joke out of politics and the reputation of this country. The last three GOP men running for president, including Bush, were in no way viable for the highest office in the land.

Bachmann, Palin and Newt will be afterthoughts by the time 2016 rolls in. It's Hillary's to win if she wants it.

Horsefeather: you are 100% right... if Bachmann and Palin ran there would be two choices: Ottawa or Montreal.

Right after we address this fiscal cliff crap, then I hope congress remembers how mad the American public was about the stupidity of the last campaign and does something in a BIPARTISAN fashion to stop the insane spending and bombardment of the American public. PLEASE!!!

Finally, "A dozen things going wrong at once, how's a guy going to keep track?" The fiscal cliff was set up there as a list of things that need to be done, painful as they will be, to start this country back onto a road to fiscal responsibility. Some of us don't see it as a dozen things going wrong; some of us see it, and most of us should see it, as the right things that are needed, painful as they may be.

Great essay, unbelievable use of sarcasm. Too bad most of the posters don't understand it.
