1 - People Magazine is the most widely read magazine in the country. It is written at a sixth grade level. 2 - The masses (attach the appropriate percentage) care more about Reality TV, The Super Bowl and Hollywood movies than edcuation, the legal and political systems which made this country great. 3 - The general media, who profess to provide relevent news, are derelect in their 4th Estate obligation.

"But for sheer ridiculousness, few spectacles are quite so grimly moronic as the American media plunging overboard in one of its periodic obsessions with the British House of Windsor." ---- I can think of one thing quite easily, the fact that you still have royalty and that most of England thinks these people are somebody special.

Oh, Mr. Massie...the American media does not equal the American public. I'm sure a similar concept applies to those across the pond.

I have a feeling that if the American media didn't go crazy over British royalty, there would be a commentary about how rude, boorish, isolationist, and self-centered Americans are.

Its another distraction like sports, reality tv and most other news while the havemores like the royal family drive the rest of the world into absolute poverty and eventually slavery! Duh!

I LOVE that there is so much press coverage surrounding the birth! I am an unapologetic Royal Watcher, and I want to keep abreast at all times through every medium. I watch the news faithfully and I am glad they are putting update blurbs in their shows even if it is only 30 seconds or one minute. This is much better than listneing to what shoes Kim Kardashian was wearing that day of the nonsense show "The Bachelorette." Keep it up!

I haven't noticed anything resembling hysteria over this impending royal. Really. An article here or there does not equate hysteria.

Well, if the US media would actually report news that was real and not biased one side or the other, and we would stop being lied to by those in power, maybe people wouldn't feel the need to escape what is reality and live in a world where happy things happen.

The American Press is focusing on this because they are too embarrassed to report on the NON-progress of President Obama not understanding how to blanace a checkbook.

Cause then they can justify another road trip to England and write off expenses for months.
