It is just SO good that we seem to be happy to have everyone "armed". That way we don't have to settle things "legally" and we have collateral damage. There are WAY TO MANY guns out there for no real purpose.

Just another sad example that America is out of control and that something has to be done regarding gun control. Canada does a pretty good job with their gun control laws. There were 598 murders in Canada in 2011 in a country of 32 million people and many of those deaths were not gun related.

Funny how people start crying "gun control"....you don't even know the guy owned the gun legally......gun control will not keep criminals from getting guns....it will only take away the ability for law abiding citizens to protect themselves.....

Just standing his ground -- in a manner of speaking. Part of the problem with that concept is that some people have a much broader view of when they have the right to kill someone versus when they're supposed to resist pulling the trigger. There was another article on Yahoo! today about when a father and son DID know enough to hold their fire. Turned out that the burglar they caught may have been badly confused and not have had any malicious intent (he also called 911 to report being held at gunpoint -- burglars rarely do that).
