A lot of vehicles are responsible for deaths too. I say we take them all off the road because it surely isn't the people who are driving that are at fault.

So if I understand the NRAs position correctly... if the girlfriend had been armed, she could have shot and killed Belcher first. And if Belcher's mother had also been armed, she could then have shot the girlfriend for killing her son. And obviously if the infant was armed, it could have killed the grandmother for killing its parents. Genius!

Costas was pretty much spot on. It is about time to have a conversation about gun violence as it is clearly out of control and getting worse. How much mass murder is needed before anything is done. With any other tragedy there is usually some level of reflection done to see what could have prevented it from happening again or at least mitigating the risk. Imagine how safe our cars or roads would be with the gun mentaility. The pro gun crowd will always come back with the idea that the solution to gun violence is more guns. And then they want these "stand your ground" type of laws to help ensure that there are no consequences for killing people with guns either.

Typical hubris. How do you explain your out-of-place and unaccredited opinions? Why, you say that there just wasn't enough of them offered, of course! How about this: Next time shut up and stick to waxing poetic nonsense about the asthetic duality of artificial turf.

Costas is an idiot. Where was the out rage for gun control when the Police Officer was killed in Cold Spring. But let a sports player kill himself and we want gun control. Just remember the player was a MURDERER. Oh and he had the gun legeally. OJ didn't need a gun, so lets outlaw knifes.

So if I understand the liberals position correctly... if the girlfriend had been armed, she could have killed Belcher first with a butter knife. And if Belcher's mother had also been armed, she could then have butter knifed the girlfriend for killing her son. And obviously if the infant was armed, it could have killed the grandmother for killing its parents. Genius of the liberal mind at work!

Forget the gun component. I understand Costas was discussing an editorial here which was 18 paragraphs long, beginning with and primarily dedicated to the opinion that the game should not have been played in kc on Sunday. The last three sentances touched on the use of a firearm in a criminal act. Costas ignored the meat of the article (because guess who makes money from the game, his employer) and focused on the object of liberal loss of sensibility, the firearm. He totally missed the mark in many ways I'd say.

Settle down, people. Sportscasters don't actually have the power to make laws in this country. YET!

Discussing "gun violence" in instances like this is about as producting as talking about "alcohol violence" when drunk drivers kill people. Things don't have decisions making powers, people do. Focus on the people.
