I'd appreciate sheeing a budget that focuses on needs, not whims, one based in the reality of our means, and one that responsible funds what is the public responsibility and not that which isn't (like stadiums for multibillion dollar industries). I think I could do this, I know a lot of people who could, let's see what the Gov comes up with.

This budget will be at least 20% bigger then the prior budget. Taxes will be going up. I'm glad the majority in this state is in favor of our elected officials taking more of our money and spending it as they please.

How did Dayton get to D.C. Yesterday? State plane? First class? What did he do there? Just a photo op? Waste of time? Did he tell Obama to tax more and send most of it back to MN?

Mark, anyway you look at it we need to reduce state spending. Regardless of the federal money there are many opportunities to spend money more effectively. Let's do this first and make future spending needs based.

Remember, you're supposed to thank those Republicans for the great financial condition of the state because they balanced the budget and made everything better; without raising taxes. There cann't be a deficit.

With this big a deficit it's going to be difficult for the DFL to pay back schools and fully fund them. No other whims for new spending. Pehaps starting with borrowing the proceed from electronic pull tabs to fund schools and let the NFL borrow to fund their place of business would be order one.

Huh, another liberal state going or already gone broke. Just like our country. Just do what, as your pres Barry says, raise taxes on the rich. Seemed to work pretty well across Europe....

bsuqb1 - Geez, the Dems haven't been given the keys to the hope chest yet and you already blame them for getting the State in a financial mess.

"With this big a deficit it's going to be difficult for the DFL to pay back schools and fully fund them.".......It is going to be very difficult for the DFL to fix the mess Pawlenty left behind when he quit.
