Tea Party Republicans are far right-wing obstructionist that caused the Republicans to take a beating in the November 6 election. Republicans know that their party has become the butt of jokes and are viewed by the majority of Americans as the single source of stagnation in our government. It is right that what's left of the moderate Republican leadership disciplines its party members. But with these no-nothing politicians, I don't expect they'll go away, just become more rigid. Case in point - Michele Bachmann.

The GOP has yet to realize that without the smaller government vote (the tea party) they cannot win elections. Remaining the party of big government and God is not a winning combination.

Sure, now Tea People say they're the "smaller government" party. Why was it, then, considering Bush was doubling the debt, that it wasn't until Obama got elected that this party came into being? Heard Mark Levin on the "Patriot Station" last night call Boehner every name in the book for "caving." Levin, like certain others, should learn the difference between "caving" and "compromise."

If you had been paying attention, the tea party came to stage DURING the Bush regime. They organized to fight the growth of government under the Compassionate Conservative administration of GWB. They wanted to distance themselves from the religious right's moralist stand and the big spending of the neo-con right.

Boehner is willing to sacrifice members of his own party to delay or feign falling on his sword for the wealthy. Spilling political blood for the over $250,000 adjusted Fed. gross wage earners is certainly counterproductive long term for the GOP. And, a disasterous mid-term election is sure to come by Boehner destroying the party from within. This is not about the "Grover is over" taunters from the left. The centrist independents that are so valuable to the GOP winning elections are getting very confused. John Boehner is personally leading the House GOP towards a long downward spiral into the abyss while simultaneously Boehners narrow viewed tparty members think they are about to summit Mt. Everest.

Finally. Some common sense, coming from what use to be the common sense party.

If you are drowning, you cut the weights from your ankles. Never thought Boehner would have the huevos to do this. btw someone wrote that the Teaparty was formed to distance themselves from the religious right. Life in bizarro land must be interesting; but thanks, you've given me something to chuckle about all day!

The GOP is not failing because they are adopting tea party ideology, they are failing because they are rejecting it. Look at the comments here by liberals. Listen to liberal talking heads. They WANT the GOP to move to the left. We don't need a second democrat party, but it sure would make it easier for the liberal ideology, wouldn't it? Conservatives, stop letting liberals tell you what you think.

re: Conservatives, stop letting liberals tell you what you think..... No, you should be saving that for Hannity, Limbaugh, and Fox News.
