Finally... a brilliant move by a company who use to make them regularly.

Wouldn't Disney make more money if they licensed their movies to anyone who wanted to pay them? Pretty soon we'll need to subscribe to a half dozen streaming services to see all of the latest releases if everybody signs exclusive agreements.

I'm a high tech junkie as a job and as simply a fan. I enjoy the Disney movies with the kids, but when we watch a movies we're watching them on an 11 foot wide screen and 7.2 surround systen via a blu-ray player. I stream some stuff via Roku, but I am a blu-ray snob because I demand 1080p video and uncompressed audio. While Netflix is 'trying' to phase out DVD's, they aren't going to be very successful without that portion of their business. Certainly any good news for Netflix is good for the company as a whole. I enjoy their disk service, but don't really give a hoot about streaming. I know the kids love this, but I don't consume movies on my phone or tablet.

ecofmn- a lot of the new tv's come pre-installed with netflix on it, plus the playstation 3, wii, xbox, many dvd players, etc. all have netflix on it. Streaming is a huge deal for netflix and I personally use the streaming service a lot more than I would their dvd service.

ecofmn- The market has proven that while consumers care about the quality of picture and sound, the fact that they can stream in HD has proven far more successful than the quest for Bluerays for the same item. People care more about the ease at which they can watch their favorite programs/movies rather than demanding 1080P picture and uncompressed sound. Almost every gaming system, tv, apple tv, all have Netflix and Hulu streaming available direct to your tv from the internet. Far more simple.
