"Their plan includes nothing new and provides no details on which deductions they would eliminate, which loopholes they will close or which Medicare savings they would achieve." ... Same thing Romney tried to pull. It didn't fly then. It won't fly now.

Doesn't matter what happens folks. Fiscal cliff or not, minority party or not the GOP will be blamed by the fourth estate. We no longer have a free press in our country and it has become has bad as 1930s Germany or 1960s USSR. As someone who gets his news from many sources; the Strib, MPR, BBC, WCCO, CNN and NBC I urge you all to watch FOX news. Is Fox often biased? Yes. But they report much which is buried, downplayed or ignored in the mainstream media. Educate yourselves before we end up with tyranny for government.

President Obama has presented a reasonable, thoughtful, and balanced plan which modestly cuts spending and asks the most fortunate to pay 4% more on every dollar they are given over $250,000. In other words, they would have to pay 4 cents more for every dollar over $250,000.

The increase in taxes on the wealthy is a small part of what should happen cut all tax benefits that 95% and above just go to 2-3% if the population. Can anyone here tell me why the wealthy shouldn't pay taxes on the money they make, instead of what their own tax code says is income.
