Now THAT should most surely send chills up and down the spine of Assad & Co...

"Carney said "the world is watching" Syrian President Bashar Assad and said he'll be held accountable for his actions." I find it had to believe that Assad will be held accountable, when he's been killing his own people for almost a year, and nobody has bothered to do anything about it yet.

The problem is is Russia has a vested interest in the status quo. They have a naval base in Syria which often does not get mentioned. Anyone helping the "rebels" would therefore be indirectly attacking Russia.

Syria's potential stockpile of chemical weapons is being monitored not just by "the world," but also by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW - opcw.org). Syria is not a member or signer of the Chemical Weapons Convention, even though OPCW has made entreaties to them numerous times to do so. They have indicated Syria will be held accountable should Syria decide to use such weapons against it's own people or anyone else.

Is that a stern warning, or a strong warning? Maybe they can work with the UN to have them issue a resolution?

Oooooo. That ought to get Syria to straighten up and fly right.

We don't have to worry. The Liberals told us there were no WMD's when Bush was president. Besides, Obama has made peace with everybody in the middle East and we are all one big happy family now. This is just made up by some Neocons so you don't have to believe a word they say.

So, Iraq's WMDs ended up in Syria after all?

What are we going to do about it? If Syrians want to kill Syrians, that's there business. Maybe President Drone has a trick up his sleeve, but telling them "I double dare you" doesn't work if you're not wearing your big boy pants.
