ironic. the demand for wood products is falling. wood industry jobs are falling. trees are being planted that may never be cut. millions of acres. but we worry about a 600 acre tree farm. i think we will get by. there is always fake trees.

My tree just goes back into the box at the end of Christmas, I didn't know I was supposed to water it.

I'm not sure that a shortage of christmas trees would really be a crisis. there are other options: not get a tree, get a smaller tree than usual, or get a fake tree.

There's an article in the New York Times about how they are 'hacking' up the 'forests' because they are 'afraid' trees will fall on their 'house'--what they consider 'their private property'? I mentioned 'grow a little corn'. All you really need to do is 'grow a little corn' or whatever for yourself. The people, as they display their greediness are still stuck in the 1800's statement of 'rolling sheaves of grain blowing in the wind'. Well--less put it this way. It actually 'blew away in the wind'. After seeing how they treated the land and themselves, others and everything else I swore not to grow them food. Almost everyone else did too. Sorry, no matter how much you 'think' you can or how much you 'believe' you can you cannot 'import' enough food for your selves even if you try to get it by selling yourselves for 'slave labor' like you've been doing. Until you learn to treat the land properly I will not grow food for you sorry. Its just the way it goes--sorry--we will just have to agree to disagree but I will not bend on this issue!!
