cavell, it wouldn't change much.... SRB would still own 51%... And it's not like Singapore (the current 49% owner) and VS do much. Or when NW owned a minority stake of Continental before the Delta merger, there wasn't much collaboration beyond being in Skyteam. Finally, NW/DL and KLM is a completely different type of arrangement... it's a joint venture. They split revenues and costs on all trans-atlantic flights regardless of the name on the side of the plane. And before the merger, all Northwest tickets bought in Europe would actually be purchased through KLM.

It would be an unmitigated disaster if Delta got hold of any part of Virgin. The great service and travel comfort provided by Virgin is a world apart from that of Delta.

Delta already messed up Northwest, they shouldn't ruin Virgin too.

Never thought I'd read in this paper that people miss northwest.

Delta ruined Northwest, might as well let it ruin Virgin, as well.

Delta did not ruin NWA, Northwest failed in the marketplace through it's own failure to adapt and hostile relations with it's unions. Interestingly, Delta's employees, with the exception of the well compensated pilots, have voted to be non union. I am a frequent flyer on domestic and international routes. Delta has done a far better job of meeting my travel needs than NWA.
