The traitor needs to be released to the general population in prison.
The patriot needs to be released period.
I haven't really been paying attention to this. How does a private get his hands on secret documents?
"How does a private get his hands on secret documents?" --- He was an Intelligence Analyst. After 9/11 it was thought that every agency/ unit should have access to ALL the information. Manning's immediate supervisor should be in the cell next to him, for failing to see that classified documents were properly accounted for.
"The patriot needs to be released period." Why do you think putting American lives and the lives of our friends and allies at risk is a good thing?
I hate traitors as much as cockroaches and bedbugs. but know what i hate even more? Unaccountable Government and suspension of human , civil, and constitutional rights. I will leave those bits for you to ponder and then also tell you that it is unforgivable , cruel and unusual and probably evil to subject a human being to total isolation NO Matter what they have done. The verdict is in and the studies have been done to prove that doing this causes debilitating damage to the human brain and it is a damning indictment that we do it here in this country. It is Far worse than waterboarding which only "feels" bad , isolation in itself is criminal
"evil to subject a human being to total isolation NO Matter what they have done" --- And had Manning committed suicide, what would you reaction be? Prisoners are put in isolation everyday throughout the world for a variety of reasons. Manning is still alive to this day. IF he found the war to be so objectionable he could have refused to do his job. But no, he continued and released classified documents ON HIS OWN. He disobeyed the rules and is now suffering the consequences of that action.
Just why did Manning VOLUNTARILY join the military? Ohhhhh... the benefits!
"obamafone4me" Nobody was ever harmed as a result of Manning's actions
"Nobody was ever harmed as a result of Manning's actions" How do you know? His actions put our military at risk as well as the lives of our allies. You are probably one of those that claimed the Libya attack was inspired by a movie no one saw but will deny leaking military secrets causes any damage.
