A foul ball hit by a Yankees player at Target Field broke her jaw in two places. She's missed work, is out $1,500, and likely out of legal options.

That sucks but it says right on your ticket MLB the twins target field employees or representatives of any oponent are not responsible for injuries caused by acts governed by the rules of baseball. And for fans to watch for foul balls.

If you initially didn't know what hit you, then you were not watching the game. Pay attention to the game. That is your first defense against being hit by a ball.

Although she has no legal recourse, if the Twins had made a gesture to her, none of this would even be known. But, because they are a crappy organization run by greedy owners, they now have to deal with more bad press. Good job Twins.

That is too bad but it's the chance you take. Twins can't open that can of worms.

It's too bad she got hurt, but it also says on the ticket fans accept the risks of attending a game. The Twins also make a announcement before every game about the risk and, in the area she was sitting, there are several signs about watching for bats, and balls.

Life is full of assumed risks. This is one of them. I'm sorry she was hurt but we don't get paid every time we get hurt. That's life.

A line drive hit hard enough to cause damage obviously wasn't hit by the Twins.

This is a strange story. Can you imagine the can of worms that would be opened if the Twins compensated her? I am not sure what the point of this is.

So she's upset you didn't get something you weren't entitled to? Typical. Should the Twins have made a little more effort? Probably. But they were under no obligation- legal or otherwise- and it's hard to fault them for not getting involved when it would be the first of many requests for some form of compensation after an incident at the park. Bad precedent. And those netted seats behind home plate? They certainly weren't in high demand this season- and won't be until at least 2014 at this rate.

If the Twins were to give her an autographed by or anything sympathetic, it could be construed legally as admitting fault. Don't blame the Twins, blame the lawyers and the many many past lawsuits over these kinds of things.
