Why is it that surrounded by South Korea, China and Russia, North Korea is somehow the US' problem? When did we become the worlds' police force?

Japan and South Korea are our allies--sorry can't smile in their face then stab them in the back--just not our style. That would be more the 'style' of the propagandist that,s been 'claiming' North Korea's 'space program' is a 'nuclear missile' program. That propaganda probably started the tension. Its 'their fault'.

Now as I recall back in the ninties students in North Korea protested until they got their 1/2 their 'way' with the 'general' there. The 'general' wanted them to develop nuclear warheads which they refused to do but the students wanted to build a space program which the 'general' would not do without nuclear development. The space program came to be however the 'general' managed to get it side-tracked by trying to 'develop' nukes' on his ownself. So, since the North Koreans are militarily aggressive, completely unlike the United States and the rest of the world, will the new 'leader' in North Korea pick the space program or the nukes? The populace of North Korea won't stand for both. Because the article claims 'rockets' it almost looks like the students have won!!!! Yaaayyyyy

Sorry -- I claimed 'ninties' -- eighties--ninties--somewhere around there--I remember going to school in support of the students.

Students and a lot of business in North Korea don't support the dictorship--there's a lot of revolt and a lot of poverty there because of it. North Korea is usually very jealous of their neighboring South Korea and Japan because the olnly area they can compete in in the world market is weapons--since China buys them form them. Neither South Korea or Japan make weapons. Main problem is smuggling since the black market chinese come in on their side and haul them out. One reason North Korea is so militarily aggressive is the traitor China WILL smile in their face and stab them in the back to try to annex North Korean territory. So, China tries to keep world opinion on the OTHER side when it comes to North Korea--its wants the North Korean land.

40 years ago it was 'made in Korea' the China got in with their propaganda and now its 'made in China'. Can't get by the facts though--world opinion may swing one way then the other then back but truth always comes out.

Remember both Clinton and Obama said if we just give them grain and fuel oil they will stop their nuclear and rocket programs? Suckers.....

So what is their definition of long range? Like, 100 meters off the ground before it blows?

This is good. It gives the US another opportunity to test the HAARP. As such, that North Korean Rocket will again "mysteriously" explode less than a 30 seconds into it's flight.
