Is the Grand Canyon as old as dinosaurs?

There's no reason why parts of the canyon couldn't have existed for 70 million years. Certainly the canyon as currently being carved by the modern Colorado River couldn't be that old, but older rivers and drainage patterns certainly existed before that. It will be interesting to see what geologists and paleohydrologists make of this.
