Neither one of these turnip peel bowls even pay enough to cover expenses!

The Gophers have made great progress this year, have a great coach and an energetic administration in place and I believe fans will be excited about attending a bowl game. You passed it along juststayhome. The BOWL will go on and I will be there! I really am looking forward since NOT making a bowl game would be bad news for any team that does not make a bowl game. For instance, iowa didn't get invited to a bowl game this season. I suppose those hawgzeyez are really happy about that. You never know...what is happening in iow just might be a sign of things to come and who knows...they may have to juststayhome for a LONG time... ; 0 )

The difference eyeinthesky is Iowa will send anywhere from 20,000 to 35,000 fans,in the Gophers case there will be more band members than 'fans'!And before you remind me there is nothing else to do in Iowa,Iowa State each home games sells 55,000 to 60,000 tickets and unlike the Vikings and Gophers don't have to give tickets away to get people to show up!!

Great progress is losing 6 of your last 8 games?? Wow! The two gimme wins in that stretch were over a 0-8 team and a 3-5 team. Wow, the U may just hire this bowl guy as the next AD!

Why bring up Iowa? This only proves the case we are going to a toilet bowl due to our cupcake schedule. My memory isn't what it used to be, but didn't they beat our brains out when we were a cupcake bolstered 4-0 and planning on soon being ranked?? ;-O

They could take in more revenue at basketball games if if they cutback on the flunkies in uniform that serve no purpose. They just stand, chatting with the regulars and other employees. It is just a snapshot of one athletic event, makes me wonder how the rest of the U is run. Is it run for the staff, or for students?

I hate to say it, but I am also not a "fan" who believes that the Gophers should be in a bowl game. They just lost to many games, and they just didn't win in conference play. As for band members going to bowl games, they didn't help to team win, therefore, they shouldn't even think about going, to me bands are just trying to "freeload" on the athletes. If the Gophers do go, I hope that they do not embarrass themselves, the U, the state of MN, and the Big Ten. Can you tell, I don't have to much confidence in them, at least not this season.

Why don't the Gophs stay home and either play ST.Thomas or Mankato.Think of the local revenue that would come in.Question is? Could the Gophs beat either of them???

wwrendahl: I KNOW the real wrendahl. Basically, wwrendahl is a GREAT name. The REAL wrendahl does not say the kinds of things you say about the Gopher Program. The REAL wrendahl would write posts that sound pretty much like what eye's posts have to say. When it comes to wrendahl-speak: the eye's point of view is pretty much "write on..." with what the REAL wrendahl would have to say... ; 0 )
