He should have never been hired. He cannot perform the job from his past recent experiences. If Kill did not have seizures, would he give a scholarship to a football player who had seizures??

Hang in their coach. You took over a program that was at rock bottom, and in two years have taken us to a bowl. I'm encouraged and look forward see next year's progress. I used to coach high school sports and had a player with epilepsy. In two years, we had just one minor episode and she was the captain of my team her senior year.

Here is the tragic truth. Jerry Kill has no chance to lead this program from the wilderness. He will, from this point forward, never recruit the blue chippers needed to to be competitive in the Big Ten (their bowl apperance this year is obviously unrelated to their noncompetitiveness in the conference). Recruiting is a brutla business and his disadvantages in the form of health history will easily be used as a wedge by others to keep great players from coming here. Personally, I don't care. Entirely too much emphasis and money is placed on football and athletics at the U at a time when budgets are tight and tuition is climbing beyond the reach of many. The University needs to decide if it wants to keep pursuing big time athletics (like the absurd costs of building a new stadium) or simply field an obligatory team so it can keep its membership in the conference. If it is the latter then Jerry Kill will serve as an exemplary role model for many and give hope for people with disabilities like epilepsy as he courgaeously navigates through a demanding life. If the U decides it wants to continue to strive for football super competitiveness then it should ask Jerry to step down now and get on with the cold, hard business of running a big time football program. I feel that would run counter to the University of Minnesota's academic mission and deminish the institution as a whole.

Kill bashing seems to be bloggers new sport and I truly feel sorry for Kill bashers - when their turn for adversity comes- they'll know not what to do. Kill's abilities in spite of disability is a great example to all. After 50 years of Gopher football futility in many respects, Kill has brought not only a rebuliding program but an education to all. Kill is the man.

Anyone that suffers from any illness, I want to wish them complete and full recovery! Now lets face the reality, he is a terrible coach. He was hired because no one would come here. The students don't support the football program like they did in the past. The 300 million dollar stadium, built to attract students, top recruits and big name coach(s) has failed on all accounts. Based on the spirit of this article, we should forget about the cost of the stadium, $800,000 payoffs to smaller teams, embarrassing nationally publicized coach/player confrontations, terrible on field performance and carry Jerry Kill on our shoulders because suffers from an illness??

Wow, there are a few pretty negative individuals commenting here. Look at Jerry Kill's overall coaching record, and you will see that he is a good coach. If any of you have paid attention to Gophers football, you will notice a pretty big improvement in the defense this tear, which is where rebuilding a program needs to start. The coach had his starting quarterback injured before the Big Ten season started, and he was not the same the rest of the season. The offensive line was also hurt all year. The program is moving in the right direction, and to think that the U should fire a coach every three years if they don't go to the Rose Bowl is pretty short sighted. It takes time to build a program-give Coach Kill time and he will succeed.

The negative nellies...the trashers of the talk...the mobbers and the ba$hers of the University of Minnesota Football Program and those who would attempt to speak ill-will directed our Coach Kill: No matter how ANY of you may attempt to push your negative agendas...the GOOD that Coach Kill is doing here at the University of Minnesota shines throught and makes your negative words ring hollow. Your negative messages appeal ONLY to you and others who attempt to breed negativity and dakness. YOU have NO power and for once, the Administration at the University of Minnesota IS stepping up in findidng PROPER ways to assist and back their Football Program and the Coaches of the Football Program. Coach Kill and the University of Minnesota ARE in charge...INSTITUTIONSL CONTROL is firmly in place. The Program IS headed in the RIGHT direction. You are "GUTHING" all over yourself and that nasty streak of "GUTH" you are attempting to generate rings so VERY hollow. You are, indeed, a hollow dude/dudette, which ever your case may be. Surely, CONTRAST and the desire to negate your nasty, negative "GUTH-SPEAK" only shows people how absurd your position of attempting to discredit our Gophers and their leader really is. CONTRAST will always follow your negativity. Coach Kill is doing an excellent job making the U of M competetive in Football. It's a TOUGH job. EVERY B1G Program is working hard. To rebuild a program takes time. I do NOT worry about the current Student Ticket situation. It WILL improve. There are not THAT many Season tickets to sell the Corporate world and the General Public. Sometimes season ticket owners don't show up. The B1G Network provides HUGE streams of revenue to the U. People who suffer from GUTH'S DISEASE do NOT stand a chance to gain traction for their negativity. Let's get ready to go bowling. I wouldn't miss this bowl game. I totally support the GREAT work Coach Kill is doing and I fully support and am proud of the journey GOLDEN GOPHER FOOTBALL is headed on. Keep on keeping on Gophers and Never let the ba$hers get you down... ; 0 )

Plain and simple. It's about WINNING. Only at the U of M could someone put a silver lining on the cloud that is now 50 years old. I like Kill as a person, I am encouraged that he has faced struggles and has lessons for us all, but Football is passionless about those facts and stories. In the end it's about winning. We could write a counter article on how disingenuous it is to back down from a fight and having to pay to get out of a game that you could possibly even win but that would not be a feel good story would it?

Kill will not have season 3.
