D.A. Pennebaker is a groundbreaking filmmaker. "Don't Look Back" is a was hugely innovative and a magnificent film. Well deserved award! I'm proud we have reprsentation of such high caliber and intelligence as Franken. And he is connected with such a high caliber crowd. Valuing the arts is important. It is a sign of a highly evolved society.

How sad that this man's hard and devoted work as a Senator means nothing to the small-minded who just can't give up the fact that he was elected to begin with. Franken has been an excellent, ethical, and extremely hard-working senator. Further, he's done so as far away from the limelight as possible in contrast to the Republican embarrassment called Michelle Bachmann who's only function is to hog the limelight. The reactionaries don't even know why they denigrate him; they just mindlessly do. I'll wage a guess that they have no clue how much he's accomplished because their original biases blind them.
