A-ball pitcher? Hope he's got a huge upside. This does not look very good for now.

If you didn't think the Twins are rebuilding this tells you they are. This might be a good trade but we won't know for 3 or 4 years. I thought we might get a couple prospects for Span but i guess thats all hes worth

GOT TO BE KIDDING. Could've at least had them throw in a dozen balls. Can't wait for the next move if THIS is progress and rebuilding. Go Twins, and take Gopher football with you.

Sorry to see Span go but the writing was on the wall with Revere on the horizon. Hopefully this is the first of many pitching related moves....

This doesn't appear to be a great move right now and surely won't help much for the next season or two. Trader Terry missed his shot with Atlanta and panicked it appears. Washington has got to love the Twins as a trade partner. Anyway, good luck Denard, hope it works out in DC for you with a team that seems to be on a mission!

What a pickup! The R&G Boys (Ryan and Gardenhire)sure fooled the lowly Nationals when they slipped this trade by them.

We trade a starting, productive starting player for a prospect who hasn't left A-ball? Unless this Meyer turns out to be a great pitcher (which we likely won't know for another year or two), we blew this trade big time.

"The Nationals have shown interest in Span in the past, and now have a leadoff hitter and center fielder."------And now we have a Class A pitcher. That Terry Ryan is one tough negotiator!

The offseason trading has proved to be pretty dismal in what is obtained in return. It seems as if the Twins FO is afraid to trade during the season so as not to look like they are giving up, but I think a team in contention will part with more during the season than in the offseason. Im sure this guy is good, but he won't be ready until 2-3 years from now, if ever, barring injury. Looks like another bad year - the Twins need some top end pitchers NOW. My guess is that other players like Mauer could be moved, since the future is what it seems to be about now.

A single A pitcher for a major league centerfielder?? Wow. The Twins stink at trades.
