People who repeatedly & loudly declare themselves as "Christians" ought to take notice of this event! The Police Officer's act of kindness and charity to the homeless & shoeless man is the perfect manifestation of what Christ wanted to impart to us when he said "whatever you do for the least of my breather, you do unto me"!! The homeless & shoeless man is the tail end of the 47%ers!!! There are many like this man who share his lack of the basics, including lack of funds or insurance for even basic medical care!! True Christians will do something besides feel warm about what the officer did for the least of our breatheren!!

rjr2205 - you don't need to be a christian to do this. True kind people do things like this. Jews, Muslims and atheists alike complete deeds such as this every day. I believe in God and classify myself as a Christian, but I tire so so much of constantly hearing about the "christian" thing to do...it's the decent thing to do.

What a great story for the holidays, or any other time for that matter. If we could all take a step away from our hyper-partisanship and remember that we all have more in common than we sometimes care to admit, the world would be a much better place. I believe in karma, and Officer DePrimo is in for some great days!

rjr2205 tell us what you did to help someone today. Many True Christians do good works everyday. How you turn an act of kindness into an anti- Christian rant is beyond me. Christians are imperfect sinners too. Clearly you are making a political statement. Based on your rant, you must feel all Repubs are Christians and evil and all Democrats hate God and always are doing something for the common good. I beg to differ...

rjr2205 - Congratulations on taking a special moment and picture and turning it into a leftover political attack. A real "Christian" is not required to believe that the government and government-based social programs are the only way to reach people (the 47% as you call them) in need. Personally, I'd rather have my resources go to organizations that aren't affiliated with the government that can put 85%+ of their proceeds towards the cause vs 44% of proceeds (got to cover government pensions first). There are ways to act like Christ that don't require submitting all resources to "Caesar"... (you do know that part of the bible, don't you)?

This has absolutely nothing to do with religion. This is about a human doing what a human ideally should do when faced with this situation.

In New York, the police give those they help boots. In St Paul, the police give them the boot instead of help.

This an excellent example of those hired to serve and protect working with the public. In contrast to New York, here in ST. PAUL officers give a boot or two to those on the ground in a much different and despicable manner.
