Too bad her first name isn't Condoleeza. Then, there wouldn't be a whisper. When McCain and the rest start pressing for investigations of Condi Rice and Colin Powell, then I will think this is more than desperate politics. What hypocrisy!

McCain's obsessive pursuit of Rice and Benghazi has two goals: 1) to block her SOS chances so that Kerry will vacate his senate seat to Brown; 2) to create a committee just to investigate the incident so that he has an appointment. His term limit is up for the committee he currently is a member of, leaving him with no where to go from there. He's working hard to stay relevant, poor guy. What a joke he's become.

Condoleeza Rice was approved for Secretary of State (where she did nothing) after presiding over the greatest intelligence and security failure in American history. But the GOP gave her a complete pass. Why the double standard? Could it be simply the Massachusetts senate seat and have nothing to do with Susan Rice? Absolutely!

Susan Rice's dishonorable behavior on the Sunday shows was just the tip of the iceberg. The Obama administration is engaged in a cover up. They claim that after almost three months they are still investigating when the CIA knew it was a terrorist attack and got involved within an hour. Disturbing.

There is no substitute for trust. Especially in this day and age America needs public officials whose every word and deed will not be questioned and/or second-guessed. Susan Rice has proven that at best she is an unthinking foot-soldier who will do and say anything as bidden from above, and at worst is someone who, without even a second thought, puts party interests before those of the country. The position of Secretary of State demands a--well, STATESMAN, not an ideological robot. Hillary Clinton, for all her faults, managed to discharge her duties as Secretary of State with discretion and honor. Ms. Rice has not shown that she has the ability to do so. Congress is right to question this. It is their duty, after all.

Really Strib. The only reason the GOP isn't supporting her is because Sen. Kerry may also be a good fit for this which would open up a Senate seat for Republicans to fight for. Can't the GOP be patriotic and support the best candidate rather than play politics again.

Sadly, the only way to move beyond this is to take her off the table regarding any Secretary of State post. The GOP's strategy is to make all dems look bad and drag this out as long as they can. Defuse the situation. I am sure they will like the next Dem proposed for the job, (snicker).

Guests on the Sunday shows are selected by the administration in regular staff meetings. The selected guests are then given talking points by the staff to use in answering anticipated questions. Especially in national security matters, the guest is supposed to stick closley to the talking points. The Republicans have no credibility on this.

redblack30 - the "talking points" were edited to remove the FACTS, and left her with LIES. Period. Thats Not R or D - thats simply moral integrity (or lack of)

crystalbay.....McCain's obsessive pursuit of Rice and Benghazi has two goals: 1) to block her SOS chances so that Kerry will vacate his senate seat to Brown; 2) to create a committee just to investigate the incident so that he has an appointment.................. Couldn't it be as simple as they want the truth? I think it is deeper than your reasons. I think they are going to find that these lies came from the top to protect a failed foreign policy of appeasement until the election was over. You did not see any other media investigating this except for Fox News. You all laughed and tried to discredit Fox. Now you are seeing other networks and newspapers looking into it because they can't ignore it any longer. You have suddenly stopped citing a protest as the reason for the attack. Is that maybe because Fox news was proven correct that they knew it was terrorist's all along? You no longer claim that repeated requests for additional security were for Tripoli and not Benghazi. That also would be because of investigations lead by Fox. Your two big talking points have been proven wrong, what else in your argument is wrong? There needs to be investigations to get to the truth.
