Gives me some hope, I too have Afib, have had 9 cardio conversions and 2 ablations, first one lasted 13 months and now I am going on 3 weeks since the second one. Used to be very active, now not so much and have gained a lot of weight,Time to move and change it around.

This story is pure awesomeness! Congratulations on your persistence and finding your way back! There are underlying truths here that apply to all kinds of situations: When life gets hard, keep trying. Even if your first attempts don't work out, keep trying anyway. Complex problems don't have to be solved overnight. Just keep trying to find the little piece you *can* do, and start with that. Those little victories count as success...and can take you further than you imagine when you first start the journey.

I had episodes of rapid heartbeat for over 20 years. Doctors originally wanted to put in a pacemaker or give me meds to control it, but I was lucky enough to wait technology out. Then, I had a similar ablation procedure 10 years ago at Methodist Hospital Cardiology Center and it’s like I never had the affliction. It was a same day medical procedure and very life changing.

Said McCleery: "I asked him, 'Do you want me to lose weight?' He said, 'No, I want you to move, just move, for 15 minutes a day.' " So, that's what he did. I love it, anyone can start with that. What an inspiration! Just change your thinking from the burden of losing weight to a small goal of 15 minutes a day.

We are so fortunate to have the great health care services here in Minnesota. Minneapolis Heart Institute and UMN Physicians Heart are two outstanding cardiac resources, plus Rochester Mayo. What a blessing. . .
