Well, Goldy, at least you get to root for some winning teams, too. Just not in football. In fact, most of the teams you support are pretty darned good most years. The Fireman guy was limited to football; Jets football at that.

Let me get this straight... So the Gophers - entering bowl season - are bowl-qualified for the first time since 2009, but Souhan chooses to write a lame soapbox diatribe where his statements, as well as his prose, are that of a middle-schooler? Wow.

"Bowl qualified?" lol 2-6 when it matters in '11 and 2-6 when it matters in '12! Rah! Rah! Rah! Just stay home instead of embarrassing us further!

Spot on! Anyone attend the final game? 20,000 tops and the place was a ghost town in the 4th quarter. The coach couldn't even bring himself to watch.

Actually, as pure satire I thought it was rather funny. It wasn't exactly meant to be the height of literary prowess. Sometimes ya just gotta laugh. The reality is there was improvement this year over last; not enough for many, but acceptable as a start for others. It is time for the bowl season, and a trip to somewhere that the temperature has numbers higher than "3" for the first digit. It's a start; next year will tell more of the tale, whether Coach Kill is the real deal (as I think) or not (as some others think).

Maybe instead of demeaning the "minor" sports such as volleyball, wrestling, cross-country, etc, Souhan could get behind those sports. Granted, he would have a lot of learning to do as he probably doesn't know a dig from an arm bar but, hey, Goldy could educate him!
