Thank you France for showing compassion and humanity to the Palestinian people!! Hopefully others will follow!
When can we move the UN to France?
1967 borders unreasonable? Go back to the 1948 borders, the UN Partition Plan that created the State of Israel. Any solution needs an internationally controlled Jerusalem.
This is long over due. More countries including the US need to jump on board; the sooner the better.
You'd think France had enough internal problems that they wouldn't need to cause trouble for others. Peace will not be the result of this action-just more war.
Good for France - get the ball rolling on what is already the professed policy goal of Israel and the USA. The situation will never change as long as the Palestinians are subjected to collective punishment and confinement, a situation which prevents them from controlling terrorism and building a civil society. It's time to break this stalemate, and Israel, having the better resources and first world economy, should really be taking the lead.
I agree with many of these commenters. Good for France!
It is about time that the US also gets on board with this.
I've somehow slipped into the Bizarro Dimension. I know it's not all Palestinians, but there are a good percentage dancing in the streets and celebrating if Israelis (or for that matter Americans) are killed... Be warned, they don't just want to be accepted. They're not going to be so grateful for our acceptance that they will change their minds about our right to exist. They don't care about that. They want to dominate. I think the frog has started boiling.
a brave and righteous move. thank you France.
A Palestinian state is not a bad thing, but it will not solve any problems in the region. Israel will grudgingly bow to international pressure, and the Palestinians will rejoice, but five years after the creation of such a state we will be right back where we started. It will never be enough for Palestine. The common Palestinian citizens will be grateful, but the religious and military leaders will demand more and more, and continue to fire rockets into Israel and take part in terrorist activities with the backing of Syria and Iran. Far too many Muslims still believe Israel should not exist, and they are dedicated enough to their cause to scare the majority of peaceful Muslims and Christians in Palestine into submission. There will be no peace until the the extremeists are out of power, and that's not happening any time soon.
