"There isn't a good argument to keep supporting class warfare." Truer words were never said, circleoflife! The class warfare that has taken place over the past 30 years, during which the middle class has been eviscerated to the benefit of the top 1-2%, is inexcusable and and must end! We can only hope that Obama is up to this task in his second term moreso than the first. The fact that he appears willing to continue campaigning on behalf of the middle class beyond Nov. 6 is a good early sign.

So when do we march? The astroturf Tea Party groups have no problem with public demonstrations, neither should we. Forget Wall Street - start with K-Street.

Cut spending, then we'll talk.

tflinn - Along with those tax increases we have to cut our spending by at least 33%. Otherwise your precious tax raises just get eaten up by the handout machine.

Funny how people who complain about "fair share" have absolutely no problem telling others that the rich should pay more taxes, all the while dismissing the fact that the rich already pay the lions share of all the taxes collected. They have no problem with the fact that 47% pay NOTHING at all in taxes..., so much for "fair share". If "all men were created equal", then why do some pay nothing and some pay almost all the taxes collected ? It is time for a flat tax apparently, 10% across the board, every dime you make is counted as income - including Welfare, food stamps, and any kind of interest or dividend, ALL will pay 10%. That is "fair share"...

Throughout the campaign President Obama promised to raise tax rates for those earning $250k or more and he was re-elected. Questions?

The conservatives have already lost the argument about higher taxes for the wealthy.

"They have no problem with the fact that 47% pay NOTHING at all in taxes." .... how many times does this claim have to be discredited? Everybody pays some form of taxes.

I'm middle class and while my tax rate likely won't be going up under President Obama my bottom line take home will drop significantly. The company I work for pays out profit sharing and 401K benefits based off our yearly profit. Raise taxes on the company I work for and you have eliminated those benefits for me the "middle class". I would rather we cut spending and have EVERYONE pay their fair share.

Second term: repeat of the first term: class warfare. I'm utterly exhausted from hearing the word "fair". What's fair? Time for Obama to cancel his travel plans, put on a cup of coffee, roll up his sleeves, and finally get something done. He REALLY needs to learn the meaning of the word "compromise". I agree that he can make any appeals to the American people from his desk, not from Air Force One.
