"Other liquor retailers such as Merwin Liquors, Morelli's and Hennepin Lake Liquors believe in holding few if any sales, but keep their prices lower than average." ---- You might want to check out Morelli's website, they often have sales and they have a new set of coupons every month.

Aren't the prices on liquor tightly controlled by the distributors? Kind of like how Apple sets the minimum price for an iPad. He might be a couple of bucks cheaper, but probably not worth it to drive out of your way.

T-shirts do not have an expiration date; beer does. I've bought way too much expired beer from warehouse liquor stores, and I now avoid them as much as possible.

In general, MN wine prices are amongst the highest in the country. This store if like the Chicago Lake store, will not change that. When local retailers occassionaly run sales reducing thier prices by 20% we ALMOST get competitive with "everyday" prices in Chicago, LA and NYC. I'm speaking of wines priced $10 and up and especially $25 and up.

HP Lake comes close to having decent everyday low prices but does NOT take credit cards. He is overstocked in CA Cabs and could use a lot more French wines.

I'm not the usual "big store" shopper, but when I'm looking for liquor, wine and beer...I like a large selection, so I hit the warehouse and this new Liquor Boy concept is especially attractive to me. Being a bit of a connoisseur of wines and whiskey in particular, I'm most looking for my favorites including BIG GINGERS WHISKEY. It's amazing to me that a small maker in Ireland has partnered with our very own locals to make the best whiskey I've tasted. I'm all about it, especially around the holidays to share with my pack of Minneapolis-eans. Hope Liquor Boy carries it!

This is indeed good news, we need more competition in the retail liquor category to break the monopoly of the "mom and pop" stores.

As mentioned Morelli's has sales every two weeks and advertises in this paper. Lack of research on your part. While prices will be low is there any customer service to offer?

"laurie9503 - ncluding BIG GINGERS WHISKEY. It's amazing to me that a small maker in Ireland has partnered with our very own locals" - That would be Two Gingers...if it's a favorite wouldn't you know the name? I'm not a whiskey drinker myself, but know the story of it and therefore am familiar with the name and even how it came about.
