Can someone please explain the fixation with wolves and the Star Tribune? There seems to be a daily update with number harvested. They should do the same daily updates for ducks, geese, deer, gophers, pheasant, rabbit, etc. If I were a duck, I would think that no one cares. I for one am gong to go set a trap today to see how long we can keep tis story running in the paper.

The 'government trappers' will fail. Just isn't in the cards for man to 'win' on this planet anymore and exterminate everything in site. Animals have evolved beyond man.

Hey folks we need to harvest and that means that in order to keep the balance with the earth population going the way it is, like it or not we will have to adjust and make changes. I for one am on a big adovate to hunt the wolves, but if I was a farmer and I had a bunch of city folks telling me that I can not protect my live stock or should I say my family as that is the way they make their living and childrens safety, well I would be in favor of it, or I would have to take matters into their own hands. The folks that are whinning about this hunt are not connected to this personally and most likely eat meat ocasionally think because someone else kills the cow and you get it at the store it is any different and it is not. Gee really looking for some responses to this emai!

I concur with Platwood. The Star Tribune's "Wolf Body Count" obsession is pointless. What agenda is being served here?

I am surprised that some of you can not figure out why these articles are done, it is because it is NEWS! And that is what the Star Tribune does! Get it?!?!

Good job hunters and trappers. Wolves were almost gone for a reason. They are vermin and whole bunch needs to be gone. Man is the apex predator now and always will be, like it or not wolf lovers. The wolf is an unwanted pest, much the same as rats and mice. Shoot them or trap them, just keep up the good work and get rid of them.
