So, rather than Compromise, the Dems will just change the rules. Hmmm.....

avejoecon: "So, rather than Compromise, the Dems will just change the rules." Since when has the GOP even offered a compromise? When have they tried to meet the Democrats half way? Never in the last four years. They simply say: "Do it our way or we'll filibuster." They'll take their ball and go home. Very childish. They don't want to govern or lead, they simply want to be dictators.

Reps need to stop threatening the filibuster every time any legislation is up for a vote. Harry reed has shown himself to be less than admirable with his statements and behavior leading up to the election. The only way either side is going to play nice in the sandbox is if citizens repeatedly threaten their jobs with letters, calls etc. we won't. Most of us are idealogues or just too lazy.

Change the fillibuster rules. The Senate has become a joke. One single senator can block any legislation simply by making a phone call, not even required to be present. the Senate had one fillibuster while Reagen was president. there have been about 250 in Obama's presidency so far. Let's get the rules changed and get some work done that bennefits the public, not your political parties!

Before rules are changed...recall a few years back when the GOP was the majority and the DEMs went nuts at the thought of limiting the fillibuster. The Senate is a place laws are meant to simmer and cook...hence the reason for 6 year terms and the intent to work out solutions. But Harry Reid is the most partisian and least effective Senate leader in memory.
