A very well written and informative piece. Thank you for your work on this--nice to get to the bottom of local corruption. Sad to see the Teamsters have not changed their ways since the 20th century.

Sounds like something out of a 1920's movie.

Sad to see the Teamsters have not changed their ways since the 20th century....Two guys out of hundreds ?After world war 2 a plan was implemented in Europe and Japan to help get the countries back on their feet .part of that plan was unionization of the work force ;as a result Germany and Japan are two of the most unionized countries in the world .O a recent trip to a national park in Ca.I met a lot of people from Germany Roughly half of the people their were European .On another trip to Hawaii I saw lots of Japanese tourist .This tells me the average German or Japanese has vacation time and disposable income .The U.S is the wealthiest country in the world; Too bad half of that wealth is in the hands of about 1% of its people

This was a very well researched and written story. However, I find it troubling that one of the Star Tribune's best stories is an expose on a union that represents 110 of their own mailroom workers. Could the Strib's management be using their publishing power to gain an advantage over an adversary? The story needs to be told, no doubt, but they don't seem to put this level of effort into a lot of their other reporting.

I'll betcha a donut that if independent audits were performed on other unions more improprieties would be uncovered.

Unions will very soon be back in a big way. THe trickle down effect has dried up.

probsolver...I'll betcha a donut that if independent audits were performed on other unions more improprieties would be uncovered.... and I suspect if you preformed audits on other companies you would also find impropieties

Teamsters and "sham" contracts? I am SHOCKED! Who would have imagined. Had this not been exposed, it probably would have led to a promotion. Now that it's exposed, well... use your imagination. Like the old saying: Some things never change.

If only businesses were investigated as routinely.
