Bloomington accepts funds for Old Cedar Avenue bridge

I'm going to guess the renovation will be over $10 million. I've seen pics where people have taken photos of the underside of the bridge and it looks like most of the substructure is rusted/rotted away.

Bloomington clearly doesn't want the bridge. Will Stillwater be also forced to take over maintenance of the lift bridge? That would be fair at least. Spending million$ to maintain these rusty old structures year after year makes zero sense.

Well if none of us spend money...none of us will make any either. Do you think mcDonalds only built a new location when they had 100% of the money in hand? Absolutely not. Every smart business person knows it makes sense to borrow money to expand...especially when interest rates are this low. People want government to act like businesses, but then still complain.

I don't think 2 million is going to cover it. For that, you might get a bike or walking bridge. Ridiculous to leave it in it's current condition.
