Apparently, the hope we had for this team was misplaced. They are not going to be competitive yet again this year.

2011 draft? The Wolves ended up with Derrick Williams and Malcolm Lee. They could have easily had Klay Thompson and Kenneth Faried, plus another first round pick. Once again, our scouting department looks inept. To be fair, 9 other teams fassed on Thompson, and 20 other teams passed on Faried, so drafting is far from an exact science. The problem is, you could go back to the inception of this team and look at each draft and see that we made the wrong choice in just about every draft. I really thought this team would have good shooters at every position. So far, they look as bad as every other Wolves team. They will get better. I still have hope.

You know the team is playing bad when you actually look forward to seeing Derrick Williams enter the game. He is one of the few bright spots on the team right now.

I know this is like training camp for KLove, but somebody better tell him to at least raise his arms when his opponent gets the ball. Instead, he plays 4 feet off the guy, bends halfway over, and points his finger in the direction of the guys torso while the guy rises up for an uncontested jump shot. It's Loves patented hope and pray defense, and in the 2 of the 3 games since Love has returned, they've given up over 100 points. They'd only done that once in the prior 6 games.

I'm not only blaming Love. Certainly the starting backcourt of Ridnour and Lee is the main culprit here. The two have combined for 33 points and 16 assists in the past 3 games! Lee can't score or do much of anything. Why is he starting? For his defense? Thompson had his way with Lee, on the way to 24 points. Lee had zero points and no assists. Which brings me to Luke. He's a Kahn holdover, and when he's cold from the field, he offers little else. No defense, few assists....but what are our options? I'd go with Shved as the starter. He's only shooting 38%, but he's a playmaker and averaging almost 5 assists per game. Give him the minutes. I know Adelman likes to stick with a starting lineup, no matter how little sense it makes (witness last year with Wes starting the whole year and Rubio coming off the bench the first couple months), but this is probably the worst starting backcourt in the NBA right now. If it aint broke, don't fix it. But if ever there was a broken backcourt, this is it. Fix it, Rick.

How's this for a starting lineup? 5. Pekovic 4. Love. 3 Williams 2 Kirilenko 1 Shved. Williams need major minutes, and we have to break up that backcourt of Ridnour and Lee. Ugh. And the second unit would thrive with our former starters relegated to it. Win win!

Starting line up...AK, Love,Pek,Cunningham,Shved,... Luke and lee? bench em

Patience. As we witnessed last year, this is a completely different team with Rubio on the floor.

If you are going to salvage the season we must make a deal for a guard. It's not on this team. We don't know how Rubio will play this season.

stcguyNov. 25, 12 8:16 AM

Lee starting is this year's Wes Johnson. Supposed to be in the lineup for defense because neither player has any offense. Great point about Lee ... if the 2 guard is killing it in the game, why does Lee even get any playing time? It is so similar to last year with Wes it is scary. We weren't wrong about Wes last year either when we were all complaining that the guy just can't play. We gave away a future #1 pick so the Suns would take him from us. Wes gets a lot of DNP's or plays 4 or 5 minutes a game in Phoenix. Why Adelman is insistent on doing the same things with Lee is hurting the team. He has no offense and he is getting torched on defense.
