Wow, incredibly sad situation. This story is a good reason why we need conservation protection. I'm not an environmentalist nut, but there are consequences if we keep on abusing the land we live in. I'm a woodworker and I'll be more cautious about purchasing rosewood or another illegally sourced wood. If you're a cynic and don't believe in what human impact can have on the environment, then look at the situation in Haiti. There are basically no more trees and they've abused all their natural resources.
