Bronson will be gone, as he should be. A republican political hack, who was handed a DNR job by his former legislator boss. The picture of the nice OHC acquisition included with this article? Bronson strongly OPPOSED that effort, like a good young republican. He's no friend of conservation measures. We don't need anymore politics on the heritage council than we already have with the legislators involved!

Where politicians can help is by consolidating and better aligning some of the redundant wildlife and clean water agencies with their hands out to the Legacy fund. The constant partisan appointments in this state are counterproductive. Improving our state natural resources shouldn't be a political issue driven by special interest groups.

Something needs to be changed so that the Legacy fund can be used to combat invasive species in our lakes (zebra mussels, milfoil, etc). Right now the DNR can't use the funds for this. Also the fund can be used to buy more properties for the DNR but none of it can be used for personell or maintenance to take care of the land. This is ludicrous for them to keep buying more land than they can maintain or patrol. Also some of the money for the arts and culture should be stipulated that it must be used in schools.
