Thanksgiving is a Federally created holiday, not a religious one. I'm in public safety and had to work yesterday. I don't complain about missing out on being with family during the holidays because I chose my line of work and going in I knew working Christmas or whatever came with the job. If having all my holidays off suddenly becomes a priority for me I will find another line of work. Businesses are in business to make money and in a free country it is none of my business which hours they keep. If I don't like what what hours a business keeps I will not frequent them. If you don't like that Walmart is open on Thanksgiving I suggest you seek employment elsewhere. If you are a consumer and don't like black Friday well I don't see anyone forcing you to go. Stay home if you don't like it.
