8:15 am? It was single lane at 12:30 pm when I drove.

It was not immediately clear why, a MnDOT spokesperson said, because 2 men work and 10 sit and watch, just a wave of the future.

Harsh people! These projects are huge...I live in the area and have been putting up with this too, but keep the eye on the end result. It just seems like everyone is angry about everything...and so judgemental of others. How about...Happy Thanksgiving!

I drive this road everyday and have been pleasantly surprised by how well this project has been managed. For an undertaking this big the times I have been inconvenienced have been minimal. Personally, I would cut these guys some slack.

To the frustrated motorists, a couple of thoughts: This project created a very complex solution where one was needed. The construction progressed rapidly, with minimal interruption to our daily during and lives, because much of the work was done at night and on the weekends, while we slept and played. The conditions required by advancing environmental controls place additional burden on the contractors who bid these jobs. Think about what is happening here; could you occupy an office tower as it is being erected? The project could no doubt have been built faster if 494 & 169 were closed for a year. I applaud the effort put forth by those involved, and thank them for a job well done.

News flash, MNDOT causes another delay! How about let's not cut these guys any more slack and actually hold them accountable. All of these "complex solutions" are needed to fix all of their previous errors. Look at 694 in White Bear, 35W and 62 in Richfield, Spaghetti Commons downtown, the 394 bottleneck into Minneapolis, the brand new ONE LANE bypass of Highway 12 in Long Lake. They push terrible designs out the door, let us suffer for 15 years, and then launch massive 3+ year projects to fix what they should have done right in the first place, and still have the nerve to call it progress. It should only be newsworthy if MNDOT does something right, I won't hold my breath.

MNDOT has been fixing this interchange over and over and over. It has rarely been construction free in the past 15 years. If I remember correctly, it's still missing either an entrance or exit ramp.
