If it has a SD tag with low costs and strong work ethic, I translate that to mean "low wages." -- Yes because technology start ups can attract the skills they need by paying $10/hours; wake up! Look, people start businesses where they do for many reasons, some of which may be that they like the area in which they live. There's nothing wrong with comparing lease rates for Mountain View, CA to those in Omaha, and realizing that while money is tight during the start up phase, the salary that you pay yourself (if you can even afford that) is going to go further in the Midwest than in Silicon Valley.
