Let the teams partner with Stub hub and other such ticket outlets and then set their own restrictions on prices for tickets. Personally, I will then stop purchasing those tickets as well if the teams pricing for the tickets is what I consider too high. Lets be serious here. These tickets on Stub Hub sell because of the low prices that are charged for them. No other reason. If those prices are artificially set at higher levels, then those sales will probably drop off. I attend Twins games by buying cheap tickets off of Stub Hub. In my opinion, the ticket prices on Stub Hub reflect the value of the product that is for sale. That product in this case being the Minnesota Twins Baseball Team. If the product is largely mediocre and unsuccessful, as the Twins have been the last few years, then why should a fan feel compelled to spend large sums of money for the privilege of attending the games? Sports teams in general should get the collective heads out of the sand and realize that their business is like many businesses, built around supply and demand. IF they supply a consistently quality product at an affordable price, then the demand will be there. In respect to the Twins organization, that means a QUALITY team not just a new stadium.

This seems to border on collusion or price fixing to me, but I suppose as long as other secondary markets exist, there is legal room to do it. Personally, I find it offensive that teams would want to regulate the secondary price of tickets they have already sold and earned revenue on at regular prices. I will certainly be done with Stubhub if they go this direction.

Stub Hub is owned by eBay and just because something is listed for 15 cents on an online auction, it doesn't mean a thing. The bidding is escalated dramatically the final few seconds, and the seller can end the auction early or put a minimum selling price on it, and many other strategies are used. But unless I'm mistaken, I can buy anything I want and sell it on the open market if I don't need it, and that's the way it should be ! ! ! As for the Minnesota Twins, they are a quality team, maybe don't win as many games as teams like the Tigers do, and are a higher quality team in some areas.
