so a business needs to make cuts to get out of the red. The Unions oppose it and then the company goes to BK. Then workers blame the company! That's the same scenario that played out with NWA and Delta bought them..... ADIOS UNIONS!!....
Why did the business increase executive compensation over 100% this past July if they needed to cut middle class staff wages. This is not a union problem. It has been documented how horrible the management is/was at Hostess.
So 24 hours after a judge orders them to talks, Hostess throws in the towel and quits? That tells me it wasn't the union that didn't want to talk....
The company is broke and the Unions want a raise?

Unions suck and are worthless.
If I were a Hostess shareholder, I would sue. What board of directors would support management that gave themselves massive raises a few months before declaring bankruptcy? I see the Tea people on this board are so worried about the little guy that they totally missed the raiding of the henhouse by management. Too funny!

My reading comprehension must be bad...I missed the part where the evil Union is demanding a raise. Perhaps they just wanted good faith negotiations rather than an 8% payout as well as slashes to benefits. How is it that leaders bring these companies down get millions in salary and bonuses while dramatically cutting wages?
Squeeze the company and see what you get. Walk out on your job and see what you get. I guess the union forced the company out of business. Good for the union. I guess the union heads will be losing their jobs too. Oh, that's right, they won't, they will move to extort money from the next company while those withoug jobs have the promise the union will fight for the job that no longer exists. Stellar move.
Make sure that the executives keep their six and seven figure salaries even though they were offering the workers 8% salary cuts and 32% benefit cuts.
