And here is what will be learned between now and the end of the season: 1. The Vikings were first in the division because of a cushy schedule in the first half of the season. 2. Peterson and Allen will never win a Super Bowl if they stay in Minnesota. 3. Ponder is better than Tebow and worse than Sanchez. 4. Peterson is still a great Fantasy Football running back because, really, what are their other options? 5. Special teams touchdowns are neat and fun, but not a reliable way to put points on the board. 6. The Vikings will be the also-rans of the division (again). They're basically the Libertarian Party in the presidential election--you pay attention early on as a curiosity, but ultimately the heavyweights establish themselves, and that, as they say, is that (Detroit is the Green Party). 7. The Vikings, ahem, faithful will again show their habit of decrying and abandoning 'their team' when it becomes clear that the Vikings will finish no better than 9-7. 8. Frazier probably has one more year to blame Childress before he really is in any kind of trouble with Zygi. 9. LA might not have been the worst option in the world...worked out okay for the Lakers. 10. The failed season and missed playoffs are all Kluwe's fault for supporting same-sex marriage.

You lost me on 3. I'm not fan of Ponder, but Sanchez is really bad.

booger, I love your crystal ball why don't you save it for the psychic network. A 9-7 finish this year would be a massive improvement and something to build on and I doubt any fan would abandon them. I'm not sold on Ponder but these last 6 games will be very telling.

Is there still a psychic network? The perpetual motto of the Vikings since putting Favre out to pasture has been, "We can build on this season." The motto is practical so long as the team actually does something other than end up with a worse draft position than the year before. The other problem with the building philosophy is that the players don't stop aging. I worry that point is lost on you given the depth of your initial response.

What else we learned is Spielman, cannot be trusted, to sign free agents. Carlson and Simpson are both busts.
