Love Christmas Carol at the Guthrie. Unfortunately they are pricing themselves out of normal families being able to afford tickets. I wish I could bring my almost 10-year old for her first trip to the Guthrie to see the show - but the average working family can't afford over $150 for a family of 3 to see a play. Guthrie, since Christmas Carol is SUCH a classic - you should really offer some special pricing - or free kids tickets, so more families could experience it. Too bad Christmas Carol has to be only for the wealthy...

Yes, isn't it ironic that this year play emphasizes the "rich vs poor" aspect of A Christmas Carol, yet the Guthrie has no problem charging the prices they do. And as for the play (and reviewer), it's A Christmas Carol, a beloved classic play, leave your politics at home. I saw it last night and of course, lefties prove once again they're sore winners. Obama won 51% to 48.4% of the vote, that's hardly a reason to spike the football into the eggnog. But taking the high road, isn't a common trait amongst the Democrats.
